HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS

To apply for scholarship aid, a student must submit a completed application form and any supporting materials requested as indicated by each scholarship.  Scholarship applications must be turned in to the Lowell Area Arts Council or the Lowell High School SSC by the Thursday, March 20, 2008.  Successful scholarship recipients will be contacted by mail.  Scholarship awards will be announced at the Lowell High School Senior Honors Night in May.  Payments will be available in late summer or early fall.


The Lowell Area Arts Council’s scholarship awards are made based on a competitive process which considers academic achievement, extracurricular activities, a statement of the applicant’s personal aspirations and goals, and financial need.  Scholarship awards are made at the discretion of the scholarship committee’s recommendations.  All awards are made without regard to race, creed, color, gender, religion, or national origin.  Awards vary in size depending on the amount of income available in each particular scholarship fund.

The Louise Harper Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Lowell Area Arts Council. Louise’s friends and family established this one-year award in her memory.  Each year an outstanding senior who is pursuing studies beyond high school in the fine arts is honored.  Please include applicable artwork when applying for this scholarship

The Kathie Quada Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Lowell Area Arts Council.  Kathie’s friends and family established this one-year award in her memory.  Each year an outstanding senior who is pursuing studies beyond high school in the fine arts, preferably majoring in English, writing, journalism, or secondary education.  A written essay of 500 words will be required.  

The Jack Frost Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Lowell Area Arts Council. Jack Frost’s wife, Dodi Frost, established this one-year award in his memory.  Jack, a Lowell native, was widely recognized in the field of commercial visual art.  Each year an outstanding Lowell graduating senior who is pursing studies beyond high school in the visual arts is honored.  Please include applicable artwork when applying for this scholarship.
 
The Jack Frost Design Scholarship is administered by the Lowell Area Arts Council.  Jack Frost’s son, Jon Frost, the owner of Jack Frost Design, established this one-year award in Jack’s memory.  Each year, an outstanding graduating senior who is pursuing studies beyond high school in the visual arts, preferably graphic arts, is honored.  Please include applicable artwork when applying for this scholarship.

Thebes Players Education Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding high school senior who is pursing studies beyond high school in any area of the theatre arts. i.e.; acting, directing, stage design, costume design, sound.  Please include samples of video, photos or resume of past theatre experience when applying for this scholarship.

Summer Arts Scholarships

Summer Arts Scholarships are available to students 6th through 11th grades. Students considering a summer art program or camp may apply. Applications are available at Lowell Area Arts Center, and Lowell Middle School. All awards are made with out regard to race, creed, color, gender religion or national origin.
